The Baltimore Creative Community’s “Evil Plans”

Anyone with even half an ear to the ground in Baltimore lately has surely noticed that we’ve got a lot going on. There’s Create Baltimore 2 this weekend, Ignite 10 in March (of which I’m a co-organizer), Full Circle Storytelling, and dozens of others, with new initiatives popping up all the time. It’s a lot to keep track of, especially if you’re involved in organizing your own thing. Luckily, the GBTC is on the case.

On Thursday, January 26 a handful of the finest minds in Baltimore’s tech/creative/culture scene will convene for Evil Plans 2, a meetup of…well, folks who plan meetups. Here’s more from the event description:

Are you someone planning interesting things in Baltimore? Are you the organizer of a regular programmers’ meetup… a volunteer driving an upcoming event… the steward of a cool collaborative space?

Do you find that our “creative community” calendar is getting a little crowded? Are you simultaneously not finding out about stuff and overwhelmed by the sheer quantity and variety of things going on in Baltimore?

Join us for our second get-together to compare notes, share news, and get to know one another better.

If you are a meetup maven, an email group admin, an event coordinator, or some other sort of “community organizer,” you’re invited to this informal discussion to be held at the Beehive. Techies, design afficianados, social entrepreneurs… you’re all welcome.

A worthy endeavor, no? And, as it happens, Orange Element has some Evil Plans of our own and I’ll be there to trade ideas, say hey, and generally enjoy the energy of this strong and growing community. See you there…
