Well, it’s the moment you have all been waiting for. After much deliberation and some help from our good friend Dave Stock, the winner of last Friday’s Font Hour was “Chunk” submitted by Neal Shaffer via twitter.
This ultra-bold slab serif from the League of Movable Type caught everyone’s eye for its old American Western woodcut feel. And as a face who is used mainly for display, it will stand out strong in our storefront windows.
Narrowing it down to one favorite was difficult as you can see from the large number of great submissions in the photos above. Other leading contenders that made the top five included Proxima Nova, Firehouse, Liza, and Stanislawski.
