As much of the business world actually starts to return to work today from a long hiatus, I figured it would be great to start 2009 off with a couple of examples of campaigns I’ve heard about recently that are pretty creative. I think these are particularly awesome because they illustrate how a campaign, tactic or execution doesn’t have to be super-expensive or elaborate to be effective.
The first one is from Arby’s, the folks who have been plugging away recently with their “I’m thinking Arby’s” campaign. What better way to remind people to think Arby’s than to put thought bubbles in the form of balloons up in front of existing billboards. Awesome:

This one is for a publisher. The ad campaign, including the ad pictured below feature no words to get the message across.

Axe, you know the spray on deodorant body spray, pulled a pretty good PR stunt recently. Sure, they probably had to pay to bail one of their cohorts out of jail, but other than that, it was pretty free. To back up their positioning as a body spray that makes men irresistable to women, they had a guy jump out in front of a women’s marathon and spray himself with Axe and run ahead of the pack. It’s brilliant if you ask me:

That’s it for today. I hope this day starts an amazing 2009. Thanks for being a loyal reader!
