Today is a great day. I’ll be out at Queenstown Harbor, one of Maryland’s finest public golf courses, for The Brick Companies Classic golf tournament. The tournament is put on annually by our client, The Brick Companies, to benefit their Foundation and the charities it serves. It’s going to be a blast and together we’re going to raise a ton of money for charity.
I’m also very excited today to announce that our good friends and partners, Fastspot, have launched Fly-Post, a community based website allowing users to freely post, view, rate and share flyers as they relate to location and event types, as well as rank them according to their aesthetic or artistic sensibilities. It’s possibly the biggest celebration of the art of the flyer.
As communication artists, we’ve always loved and respected the flyer. Like the poster, the flyer is a great way to find out about things that are going on in the world around us. That aside, we love that flyer creation has become an art form. There are some really beautiful flyers on this site – like this one:

Please go and check out Fly-Post. Upload some flyers. Rate your favorites. Learn about what’s happening in your neighborhood. Or show off to the rest of the world and upload your own designs. The key to the sites success will be your participation. I’ll see you there.
Nice work, Fastspot!

This is great – I really love this!
Hey Garret!
Thanks for the post – we really hope people will find the site useful, especially other designers who want to showcase their flyer work. It is a true art form, and one of the earliest forms of viral marketing pre-internet! We think of it as the virtual telephone poll or bulletin board, and hopefully it will also help people find fun things to do in their neighborhoods too!
