I'm a subscriber but since the redesign I've been considering dropping it. There is less to read now. I enjoy reading the news on paper and not just local news. The large photos of the columnists are not adding anything to the paper. They remind me of how many people have been layed off there recently. Also, I also enjoyed the comic section but now it is squished to one page and annoying to read. They dropped several strips to accomplish this.

I was emailed a press release about this a few weeks back. It was a bit weird. A whole press release about this new design that was coming, but it was so incredibly vague...it basically said we're adding more color and graphics and it'll be awesome.

Now that I've seen it, I'll continue to get my news elsewhere. I don't have a huge problem with it, I'm just of the generation that reads everything online and has news alerts emailed to them. Clearly I can't speak to it's effectiveness with existing readers, since I haven't bought a hard copy newspaper since sophmore year of college for my newswriting class. I guess we'll see in time.
