I'm not a city dweller but I can walk to the cleaners and chinese take out from my house and I do every time I need either one! I also have some sweet carpooling buddies that keep me company on the drive to work!

The company I work for gave out canvas grocery bags as a "green" initative and I was suprised when a lot of my co-workers didn't want them. I quickly offered to take them and now have four reusable shopping bags. I also moved downtown and walk everywhere I can (like the grocery store using the canvas bags) or ride my bike when it is far away. The benefit of city living is that everything (just about) you need is within walking or biking distance as long as you live at a relaxed pace.
