We’re beaming with pride over here today after our PR partner, Sawmill Marketing & PR was quoted in the Baltimore Business Journal in an article about Baltimore City Mayor Sheila Dixon’s public relations strategy in the midst of her ongoing scandal.

However, the mayor also has handled herself well, said Jeffrey A. Davis, a partner at Sawmill Marketing Public Relations in Baltimore. Davis cited her disclosure, a few days before the press conference, of a past, personal relationship with the developer in question, Ronald H. Lipscomb, president of Doracon Contracting.

“If she didn’t disclose the relationship, the media would find other people to disclose it and it would be an even bigger story,” said Davis, a former newspaper reporter. “One rule in crisis public relations is to [announce] the bad news yourself as quickly as possible.”
