Have you all been following the plight of the Maryland Tech Tax, which would place a computer services sales tax on the services that many technology and design firms (including some of ours) in Maryland provide? If not, you can read about it here: www.fightthetechtax.com.
This would have been a devastating blow to the Maryland economy because it would have meant that firms like ours that perform services such as Web design, IT Integration, programming, etc, would have had to pass that tax along to our customers. The result: our customers would search for firms in Washington DC, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware, etc to perform the services WITHOUT the tax. In essence, this would make Maryland a less attractive place to do business.
Well, thankfully, with the help of www.fightthetechtax.com and other active business leaders in Maryland, it appears the bill will not be signed into law. NICE! Read about it HERE.
